Interior architecture and details in the south transept of Westminster Abbey, drawn by J.C. in 1807. Plate IV. John Carter (1748-1817) was a sculptor and builder who later became a draughtsman, working often for the Society of Antiquaries of London, and achieved fame for his definitive measured plans, elevations etc of Gothic buildings.
