Tinsel print
Theatrical souvenir plate engraved with a portrait of an un-named actor in the role of an Admiral. Applied to the portrait is clothing of shaded silk and cotton embellished with metal foil tinsel ornaments. The weapons and other accessories are also of metal foil. The portrait has been cut from a paper sheet and applied to a card board handcoloured with background scenery. Such portraits would have been sold for 1d plain as theatrical souvenirs for colouring and tinselling at home.
