A copper alloy as coin of Emperor Vespasian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 69-79. The back of the coin depicts Securitas, the Roman goddess of security. This coin was minted in Lugdunum (Lyon), France, AD 71.
Obv: Laureate head of Vespasian, facing right. Obv inscription: [IMP CAES VES]PASIANVS AVG COS III. Rev: Securitas, seated right, holding her right hand to her head and holding a long, vertical sceptre in the left. Rev inscription: SECVRITAS AVGVSTI, SC in exergue.
