City bomb damage: City Temple during the Blitz
World War II bomb damage to the City Temple, Holborn Viaduct, caused by the German bombing raid on the City of London on the night of 17 April 1941. The 19th century church was badly damaged and was rebuilt after the war, re-opening for worship in 1958.
