Card, valentine card
This card comprises two layers of lace paper attached one above the other by means of paper springs. The under layer is of white lace paper embossed with a design of a church. Above this design is an oval shaped cream satin panel printed with a love verse entitled 'To a Sailor's Lassie' surrounded by an applied silver embossed paper frame. The top lace paper sheet is part coloured silver and has an open area through which can be seen the applied satin panel. Framing the open area is an applied wreath formed from white paper leaves, light blue coiled cotton thread and a light blue satin bow. The box is of white card, the lid has a glass panel framed by a gilded paper border.
