Carte De Danse
A 'carte de danse' for the 'Concert-Ball-Supper' given by Mr Peabody to the American Minister and Mrs Lawrence on Friday July 4th 1851.
The card is comprised of a folded paper. Each of the four sides of the card have a gilded border decorated with garlands of pink and lilac flowers. The front cover is printed with the ball details. Inside is printed the programme of seventeen dances. The facing page is a lined and numbered sheet headed 'engagements', used for adding the names of dance partners for the relevant dances named opposite. The back of the card reads 'Coote and Tinney's Band.'
