Moore & Burgess Minstrels
Programme for a performance of 'The Yaller Gal Plantation Comedy Operetta' by the Moore & Burgess Minstrels at St James's Hall, Piccadilly. The front and back covers are printed with illustrations of the Minstrel troupe and describes the entertainment as 'Fun without vulgarity'.
The Moore & Burgess minstrels were established by the New York born George Washington 'Pony' Moore and Frederic Burgess in 1865. For over 30 years they performed nightly at St. James's Hall in Piccadilly. Hugely popular with a national following the troupe toured throughout the UK. This programme announces three performances due to place at Victoria Hall, Helensburgh, in Scotland.
