Printed Ephemera — 1918
Requiscat in Pace
This lithographic poster shows a crowd representing the nation. Old and young, rich and poor stand united in mourning those who died during the First World War. The artist S E Scott designed the poster to commemorate the end of the war.
The name of the department store, 'Selfridge & Co Limited Oxford Street', is printed on the bottom of the poster. The store may have commissioned the work in memory of those killed during the conflict.
