Hope
Multi-layered, handfinished valentine's card comprising an uncoloured undersheet solid embossed with a scroll border design surrounding a central medallion embossed with a flying angel. Attached above, by means of paper springs or hinges, is an uncoloured lace paper sheet by Mullord Brothers embossed with a floral design surrounding a plain, central oval panel. Each corner of this sheet has an applied embossed paper floral bouquet 'scrap'. Attached above the central panel of this sheet, by means of paper springs, is a gilded lace paper sheet with a centrally applied silk fabric oval embroidered, in blue and red silk with a love verse entitled 'Hope'. The paper hinges give the card a three dimension effect.
