Bead
An Iron Age blue glass bead with spiral decorative knops dating 250 BCE to 50 CE. This bead has eight raised knops upon which are white spirals divided by yellow zig-zag bands (Guido 1978 Class 11g).
During the Iron Age the raw materials to make glass were found in Syria and Egypt. It is likely, as in Roman times, that the glass was made there and then traded and the beads and other objects were made more locally.
