The Festival of Britain was held between May and October 1951 to showcase national life and highlight the achievements of British industry, science, art and design. The central focus of the Festival was London's South Bank Exhibition, but events were held across the length and breadth of the country. This souvenir badge features the coat of arms of Darlington in County Durham.
