Card, valentine card
Handfinished valentine's card comprising a top sheet of silver and white lace paper embossed with a floral and paisley design surrounding a central oval panel. Applied to the panel is a paper book open at two pages printed with a valentine's message. One of the pages can be lifted to reveal beneath a coloured print of a mother listening to a child reading. The card is also decorated with applied garlands of embossed paper leaves, flowers, satin leaves and cotton flowers. At the top is an applied cut out paper bird with a paper panel emerging from his beak printed 'The Advertisement here you see, if you feel disposed to Married be'.
