Card, valentine card
Handfinished valentine's card comprising a top sheet of white lace paper embossed with a flag and floral design surrounding a central panel of cotton net gauze. Applied to the panel is a bouquet comprising embossed, coloured paper leaves, a cream frosted leaf and red and green tinsel flowers held together by a gilded paper open book. Below is applied a sprig of pink paper roses and green embossed paper leaves. Handwritten within the embossed flowers of the lace paper border is the message 'Come & see me soon Always happy in your presence'. The inner sheet of the card is decorated with handpainted flowers. This decoration shows through the cotton gauze panel when the card is closed and frames the central bouquet.
