Association of Municipal Corporations
Menu for a dinner held by the Association of Municipal Corporations at Hotel Metropole on 30 March 1900. Printed on cream card with gilded edge and embossed logo, the menu card outlines the food and drinks to be served, the toasts made, the entertainment and the table plan.
Included in the eleven course meal were 'Hors d'Oeuvre Varies'; 'Sorbet au Kummel'; and a selection of 'Combe Nelusko', 'Gateau Frascati', 'Dessert' and 'Cafe noir' to end. Accompanying these dishes were a selection of seven drinks such as 'Liebfraumilch' and 'Chateau Paveil Margaux, 1891'. Those to be toasted were 'Her Majesty the Queen & the Royal Family', 'The Naval and Military Forces of the Empire', 'The House of Lords and Commons', 'Her Majesty's Ministers', 'Her Majesty's Judges', 'The Lors Mayors, Mayors and Municiplaitiesof the United Kingdom', 'Foreign Ministers' and 'The Executive Departments of the State'.
