Description and illustrated plan of the panoramic view of the Battle of Sobraon and the defeat of the Sikh army of the Punjab, as exhibited at the Panorama, Leicester Square in 1846. It comprises a 16-page description of the exhibit and a folded illustrated play with a numbered key. The exhibit that this guide promotes was a huge 360° painting displayed in a purpose-built rotunda. Sobraon was the decisive battle in the first Anglo-Sikh War of 1845-46. Ten thousand soldiers of the Sikh army and over 2,000 British soldiers died during the artillery battle. The British then occupied much Sikh territory and forced the Sikh army to reduce its numbers.
