Jesus called a little child unto him
This memorial card has the words 'Jesus called a Little Child unto him', from Matthew, XVIII,2. It has a black and silver border with an illustration of a branch with flowers. On the inside, there is a four line verse: 'She was a flower too tender, too sweet and too fair/To live amongst the thorns of sin and care,/So Jesus took her from the world of sin and vice,/ To bloom amongst the flowers in Paradise'. On the facing page are the words 'In Loving Memory of Florence Irene, the beloved daughter of Willis and Alice Rippon, who interred into rest March 25th, 1901, Aged 1 year and 4 months'. The child's body was interred in the Western Cemetery, Hull on 28 March 1901 and the undertaker was William Webb, 45 Spring Bank, Hull.
