Card, valentine card
Large, handfinished valentine's card comprising a sheet of cream lace paper by Dobbs with floral embossed inner border surrounding an appliedcentral panel of cream watered silk. Applied to the panel is a floral wreath of embossed paper leaves and blue flowers and pink fabric flowers. Applied above is a handcoloured cut out paper figure of cupid and below two cut out embossed coloured paper figures of a young girl and boy. Inside are the following notes probably handwritten by Jonathan King 'A specimen of beautiful work in making the wreath Dobbs Paper & Morrie silk Mansells C-- and Cupid 1861 Wreaths Made in a convent y/ per dozen'. The writing is partly illegible.
