Card, valentine card
Handfinished valentine's card comprising a white lace paper border with embossed floral design surrounding a central panel of cotton net gauze. Applied to the panel is a border of embossed paper leaves and flowers and, in the centre, a piece of white rice paper handpainted with an image of cupid in a chariot being pulled by a peacock. Below the panel is applied a red see-through paper 'scrap' printed with a love verse. The inner sheet of the card has a handpainted garden scene embellished with an applied cut out paper image of cupid blowing a gilded paper horn. This decoration is framed by a gilded paper floral and leaf border.
