Printed Ephemera — 1841-1860
From one who dearly loves
Incomplete Valentine's card comprising a single sheet of white lace paper elaborately embossed with a design incorporating cameo embossed figures, foliage and flowers surrounding a central roundel filled with a panel of pink cotton net gauze. The gauze has applied decoration including a pediment of blue ridged paper and gilded frame on which is applied a small cut out embossed paper bridge by John Windsor. Below is applied a garland of coloured, embossed paper leaves and flowers. The card also has an applied small paper scroll printed 'From one who dearly loves'. The card is incomplete as it has no back or inner sheet.
