How sweet to hear in shady grove the strains of true and constant love
Valentine's card comprising a top sheet of white and gilded lace paper elaborately embossed with a village scene incorporating trees, a church, animals and two lovers sitting on a bench. This embossed area proves a frame for a central roundel which has handpainted decoration of a church and a garland of flowers. Below is applied a paper scroll printed 'How sweet to hear in shady grove the strains of true and constant love.'
