The top two layers are identical and comprise white lace paper embossed with a design incorporating shells, coral and foliage. These layers comprise one sheet folded down the centre. Applied to the central panel of the top layer a cut out paper image illustrating a bouquet of flowers framed by an applied wreath of embossed paper leaves coloured blue and white. The second layer of lace paper has an applied cut out paper 'scrap' printed 'My heart yearns ever to thee'. The central panel of this layer is open revealing decoration applied to the inner sheet. The third layer of gilded and white lace paper is attached to the middle layer by paper springs or hinges. This layer is heavily embossed with pillar, columns and a central archway.
