Printed Ephemera — 1850-1879
Friendships Tribute
Handfinished Valentine's card of silver and white lace paper elaborately embossed with a design incorporating flowers, foliage and two figures holding aloft vases of flowers. These figures flank a large central urn which is concealed beneath an applied silver and white embossed lace paper envelope with four flaps. When the flaps are opened an applied paper print of flowers is revealsed surrounded by a frame of silver and white embossed paper leaves. Below the central decoration is a small paper scrap printed 'Frienships Tribute'.
