Card, valentine card
Handfinished Valentine's card comprising two layers of white lace paper. The top layer is elaborately embossed with a design of roundels surrounding an oval open panel. Within the roundels are cameo embossed images of figures and buildings. Applied to this layer is a gilded, silver and coloured paper outer wreath of embossed leaves and flowers and an inner wreath of embossed paper leaves coloured dark and light blue. The undersheet is attached by paper springs or hinges to give a 3d effect. This sheet is embossed with figures of cupid and an arrangement of fruit and flowers. Applied to the central plain oval panel is a gilded lace paper roundel with an embossed figure of cupid surrounded by a frame of flowers.
