Card, valentine card
Lace paper and perfumed valentine card. Comprising a sheet of white lace paper embossed with doves and the wording 'Rimmel's perfumed valentine of the language of flowers E. Rimmel Perfumer to her Majesty London and Paris'. In the central oval panel is printed a colour illustration of a man serenading his lover surrounded by a lush border of flowers. Also printed with the motto 'As around the fragrant bow'r Fondly clings the sweet woodbine So may love's enchanting pow'r with its ties our hearts entwine'. The card would have been impregnated with perfume. Inside the card is a sheet of pink tissue paper.
