Thy smile is sweet
Valentine's card formed from two sheets of lace paper with applied decoration. The top sheet is of white lace paper with embossed images of a female figure, animals, columns and trees et cetera. Applied to the sheet are garlands of embossed and paper flowers, also a paper scrap printed 'Thy smile is sweet'. The sheet has an open central panel which shows the decoration beneath. The undersheet is by Kershaw and comprises a lace paper border with embossed flower decoration. In the oval centre is applied a cotton panel handpainted with a lakeside scene and a church in the distance. The two sheets are applied directly on top of one another.
