Printed Ephemera — 1851-1870
My Idea of Happiness
Valentine's card of embossed lace paper with central oval panel. Applied to the panel a paper illustration of flowers and tress printed 'My Idea of Happiness'. The message concludes under the illustration which flaps down to reveal 'To have you for my darling wife'. A separate piece of paper is printed 'Can my [drawing of an eye] dear be a reality dearest?' Also decorated with silver embossed paper leaves, birds and fabric clouds.
