Printed Ephemera — 1845-1880
A light but loving gift
Valentine's card of embossed lace paper with applied decoration. The front cover is of gilded lace paper with flower decoration and central cotton net panel. Applied to this panel is a paper and clay image of a windmill and bridge. Below a paper scrap printed 'A light but loving gift'. The inner sheet has an applied central raffia basket filled with fabric flowers surrounded by a frame composed of embossed and gilded paper foliage, white fabric leaves and small conch shells.
