Printed Ephemera — 1845-1880
An offering of Regard
Valentine's card of embossed and lace paper layers with applied decoration. Comprising a white lace paper under sheet embossed with an underwater design incorporating shells, mermaids, fish and a boat. In the centre an oval shaped cream satin panel with applied coloured paper scrap of two doves bordered by silver embossed paper frame and a garland of fabric and paper embossed flowers and foliage. The top layer comprises a silver and white lace paper sheet embossed with a border of white roses surrounding an open central panel. This layer also has an inner border of cotton net.
