Card, valentine card
Valentine's card of embossed lace paper layers with applied decoration. The top layer is of silver lace paper with central open panel framed by embossed roses. Two embossed white paper hands reach out to the middle of the open panel, one is holding a gilded ring. The two halves of this layer fold out from the centre to reveal the layers below. The under layers comprise a double layer of two identical lace paper sheets by John Windsor embossed with a garden scene. The under layer is white and the top layer is gilded. Also applied with garlands of fabric and embossed paper flowers, foliage and a paper cut out image of a ballet dancer. An additional lace paper border of lilac is applied around the edge of the gilded layer. A plain inner white sheet has a small printed paper scrap of an open book printed 'Love with his unerring wrath hath pierced a true & faithful heart'.
