Card, valentine card
Valentine's card of embossed lace paper with applied decoration. With an outer border of light green lace paper with flower decoration. The central panel is of cream cotton netting. With applied embossed image of a male and female figure in medieval costume. Also decorated with a paper scrap in the form of an open book printed 'Go where you will This heart is thine thr' good or ill, Thro storm or shine'.
Victorian Valentine's cards like this could be made from commercially-produced papers. Paper lace was a popular card base and printed scraps would be added to adorn and personalise the cards.
