Card, valentine card
Valentine's card formed from two layers of embossed lace paper with applied decoration. The bottom layer comprises a light blue lace paper border embossed with roses. The open centre is filled with a piece of yellow paper applied to which is an embossed paper image, part painted silver, of a man on horseback greeting his lover on a balcony. The top layer of lace paper is embossed with an archway of bluebells and images of two pairs of lovers. The decoration is elaborate and part painted silver. Applied to this layer is an arrangement of fabric and embossed paper flowers and a scrap entitled 'From an affectionate Friend'.
