Printed Ephemera — 1851-1900
Card, valentine card
Valentine's card with white lace paper border surrounding a central panel printed with a hand coloured arrangement of flowers and plants above an oval shaped illustration of a sailing boat at sea. A verse printed within a floral border reads: 'Worlds may pass & perish, Every feeling die away, But the constant love & cherish Never, never may decay'. There is a prominant illustration of a pansy on the card, which represented though in the Victorian system of floral symbols. The card is a single sheet only with no back.
