Printed Ephemera — 1912
Guide
Guide in Spanish for the Anglo-Latin American Exhibition at White City in Shepherd's Bush, 1912, illustrated with photographs. The exhibition featured culture, science and industry from ‘the great Latin nations of the World – France, Spain, Portugal and Italy, as well as their daughter Republics that govern the marvellous natural resources of South America.’ The visitor was dazzled with a mixture of French fashions, Neapolitan music and toreadors as well as ‘the reproduction of the wonderful civilisation of the two dead races of America, the Incas and the Aztecs’. The exhibition was staged by Imre Kiralfy, who developed the showground at White City from 1907 to host international and imperial exhibitions.
