Tinsel print
Handcoloured theatrical souvenir portrait plate printed with an engraving of the actor Mr T.P.Cooke in the role of Roderick Dhu. The portrait has been cut out from a paper sheet and stuck onto plain card. The portrait is embellished with metal foil tinsel ornaments notably on the dress accessories, weapons. The clothing is of cotton tartan. Such portraits would have been sold plain as theatrical souvenirs for colouring and tinselling at home.
