Printed Ephemera — 1910
The Japan-British Exhibition
Souvenir of the Japan-British exhibition held at White City in 1910. The souvenir is in the shape of one of the Japanese pavilions situated within the Japanese Gardens built for the exhibition. Inside is a single sheet folded concertina style which, when unfolded, reveals a series of black and white images of the main exhibits. White City was a private enterprise, geared to making profits. The sale of official guidebooks, souvenirs and novelties all contributed to its financial success.
