Mr Lewis as William the Conqueror
Handcoloured theatrical souvenir portrait plate printed with an engraving of the actor Mr Lewis in the role of William the Conqueror. The publisher William Cole was also a partner in the firm Hodgson and Company. Such portraits would have been sold as theatrical souvenirs for colouring and tinselling at home.
