A Coronation Ode to the Queen
Broadside ballad entitled 'A Coronation Ode to the Queen'. Produced to commemorate the Coronation of Queen Victoria the ballad was printed at the 'Victoria Press' installed at the Coronation Fair held in Hyde Park on June 28th 1838, the day of the Coronation. Copies of the ballad were sold for one penny to the crowds who had travelled to central London to join in the Coronation celebrations. After watching the Coronation Procession many spectactors would have gathered at the fair to purchase food and souvenirs and watch the magnificent firework display.
