Envelope
Stamped envelope addressed to J Hollingshead, 11 Blandford Place Regent's Park NW. The envelope was written and sent by the author Charles Dickens who has also signed the bottom left hand corner. In 1854 John Hollingshead was employed by Dickens as a journalist on Household Words. In the 1860s he moved into theatre management initially helping to establish the Alhambra Theatre and then, in 1868, taking control of the Gaiety Theatre.
