Poster, theatre poster
Poster printed in red, black and white advertising the Albert Saloon theatre located at Shepherdess Walk, Britannia Fields, Hoxton. The poster is printed with five oval vignettes depicting scenes from plays performed at the theatre and notes that 'every evening' was an immense success. The Albert Saloon was built of wood and had two stages built at right angles to each other, one facing an outdoor auditorium, the other a closed theatre. It specialized in lighter entertainment such as burlesque and vaudeville, but also offered concerts and ballets.
