Window glass
Fragment of glass from a dining room window of Westminster Palace Hotel. At 8.15pm on 21st November 1911 the window was broken by a stone thrown by a militant suffragette. The Westminster Palace Hotel was targed as because provincial members of parliament often stayed in the hotel when attending the House of Commons. At the time of the attack, Joseph Bliss M.P. was dining in the hotel's restaurant. He collected this piece of glass as a reminder of the suffragette's militant struggle.
