Sun-ray lamp
This electric ultraviolet sunray lamp was manufactured by Hanovia of Slough and bought from the Sun Electrical Company. During the 1930s exposure to artificial sunlight was believed to be beneficial to those with poor health and growing children. The donor of the lamp, recalls being tempted with sweets by her mother to sit in front of the lamp, wearing the protective goggles, for many hours as a child.
