Oval brass badge, engraved with an image of Mercury with winged headgear, wearing a fig leaf. In his left hand is a branch with leaves, and in the right hand is a stick with wings. Behind him is a triangular structure with a bird on top, and in the foreground is a crest. Possibly the crest of the Mason's Livery Company.
Register entry reads: Said to have been worn at the election of Mayors of Chester in the 18th century.
