Billhead, invoice
Copper-engraved billhead with handwritten invoice issued by the wholesale haberdashery firm of Thompson, Harrison and Smith located at 6 Watling Street. The handwritten invoice dated 4th May 1787 refers to the supply of goods to the county draper John Thomas & Company located at Hinckley, Leicestershire. Similarly to other county drapers J. Thomas and Co ordered cloth and haberdashery from London wholesalers. The firm went out of business the same year as the invoice in 1787.
