Copper Post Office letter weight, August 1839. One side is decorated with a coat of arms and has the inscription 'The Post Office Letter Weight'. The other side is inscribed 'For Rowland Hills / Plan of Penny Postage' in the centre, and the edge is inscribed 'For H. Hooper / the 12th August 1839 / Registered Number 1 Persuant to 2 Vic. CH 17'.
