Phalera, cavalry harness phalera
Phalera (horse trapping) of copper alloy with two vertical loops on the rear face, joined by a short one, for attachment to the harness. The object has a hole at the centre and its front face shows vestiges of tinning (or possibly solder from silvering) and is decorated with inlay with three pairs of opposing tendrils and was probably decorated with niello.
