A Description of His Majestie's Army
A Description of His Majestie's Army of Horse and Foot, and of his Excellencies Sr. Thomas Fairefax: as they were drawn into several Bodies at the Battail of Nasbie June teh 14th 1645. This engraving appears to have been removed from a copy of Joshua Sprigge's Anglia Rediviva which covers the campaigns of the New Model Army from its raising to the fall of Oxford. The volume was published by John Partridge in 1647 with engravings by John Sturt. Although stylized the plan of the Naseby battlefield is very accurate and has been discussed by Glen Foard, in his book Naseby, published in 1995. The National Army Museum has a first edition copy of Anglia Rediviva with accompanying plan.
