[Oliverus Dei Gra[tia] Reipub[licae] Angliae, Sco[tiae] et Hib[erniae] Protector.
The obverse of this medal shows Cromwell in profile looking to the left with the inscription "Oliverus Dei Gra[tia] Reipub[licae] Angliae, Sco[tiae] et Hib[erniae] Protector." The reverse shows a lion with the Commonwealth coat of arms and its motto Pax Quaeritur Bello - peace is sought by war. See also 46.78/1092.
