Edmund Ludlow, Died an Exile, 1693
Edmund Ludlow, Died an Exile, 1693 (with a facsimile of his signature). Ludlow (c1617-1692) was a radical who became a leading Parliamentarian militarily and politically but then bitterly opposed Cromwell's assumption of the office of Lord Protector in December 1653. After the Restoration he fled to the Continent, returning only briefly in 1689, and was the last survivor of the regicides.
