The Effigies of the Right Hon'rbl Thomas Belasise Viscount Falconbergh of Henknowle Baron Falconbergh of Yarum Ld Leiuetenant [sic] of the North rideing [sic] of Yorkshire And one of ye Lords of his Ma'ties most Hon'bl Privy Councell [sic] &ct. Thomas Belasyse / Belassis (1615-89) was a royalist in the civil war, exiled with Charles II during the Commonwealth, served as Lord-Lieutenant of the East Riding and governor of Tangier after the restoration, was imprisoned as a Catholic unable to take the Test Act oaths from 1678-84 but cleared in 1685 and made a privy councillor.
