Perspective Elevation of the Intended Strand Bridge
Perspective Elevation of the Strand or Waterloo Bridge - a proposed design in 1808. John Rennie's bridge was built in 1811-17. The caption reads in full "Perspective Elevation of the Intended Strand Bridge By Geo. Dodd Junr Engineer, 1808, proposed to be erected over the Thames near Somerset House; length of the Bridge 1350 feet, span of each Arch 130 feet, altitude 36 feet from medium tide. NB Each Arch is 30 feet more in span and equal in elevation to the largest Arch in Blackfriars Bridge." Artist's name is illegible.
